ANOTHER GREAT VISIT WITH OUR NEW JERSEY RELATIVES

A WHOLE LOT OF WEEDING GOING ON

 

We joined Jim, Kathryn and Christina in their garden for a little weeding party.

 

In a short time, we had given the peppers, beans, squash and tomatoes a new perspective on life.

 

MAN AT WORK

Jim took us to his workplace and showed us around. He was just finishing up a big job.  It is close enough for him to ride his bike to work.

 

COUSINS

 

Camille and Mark stand outside Mark's home, which used to belong to their grandparents.  This was the first time they had seen each other in twenty years.   Mark grew up in the house next door and Camille and her brothers spent many weekends and virtually every Sunday of their childhood playing in this neighborhood. Last year Mark gave us permission to tour the house while he was at work and we discovered what a fine job he has done of preserving the Illo family history. Jim has done a better job of keeping in touch with his cousin.  Next we all drove over to another childhood haunt, the Twin Lights.  From the hill we were able to see the Sandy Hook and Manhattan.  There are more pictures of Twin Lights here: Jersey Shore

 

DINNER AT FRANK AND SHAWN'S

Just like last year, we were invited to a sumptuous dinner at Frank and Shawn's where Camille shared a few laughs with her Aunt Kathy.

 

SURPRISE!

Even though Kathy's birthday was the next day, she truly seemed surprised when Frank and Shawn brought out her cake.

Birthdays are great fun!  Frank helped his mother blow out her candles and everyone went home happy.
